Mohamed Abaas, BA
Therapist and Case Manager
I value supporting people on their journey to creating change and growth for themselves, and I believe that change ultimately starts with you. A great start to your therapeutic journey is working with someone who understands and connects with you, which is why I bring my authentic self to each session to build a lasting therapeutic relationship that feels safe, real and supports healthy emotional processing. I was born to immigrants in Queens, New York, and that shaped a deep passion in me for creating a safe environment for all people, with a clear commitment to marginalized communities, BIPOC clients and others who feel misunderstood in systems that were not built for them. I have a trauma focused lens that draws from Narrative and person-centered theory. My approach is client centered, meaning sessions are adjusted to your needs and goals while keeping you in the driver’s seat for change. I have experience working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, substance use, grief, stress, loneliness and other matters. My goal is to support you in building change that lasts.
