Charlie Mayer-Twomey, LCSW

Therapist and Owner

Counseling should always be guided by you in a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment. Together, we will create meaningful goals for you or your child, and develop practical, effective strategies to help achieve them. I bring over 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of needs including depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, family and behavioral challenges, LGBTQ+ and transgender-related concerns, gender-affirming needs, substance use and psychosis. I also have experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum. My approach is rooted in empathy, cultural humility, and the belief that each person’s lived experience and identity are central to their healing process. I “meet clients wherever they are,” tailoring therapy to their unique goals, strengths, and pace. I integrate evidence-based practices with a person-centered, trauma-informed lens, ensuring that care feels both effective and compassionate. As the owner of Mountain Thrive Counseling, PLLC, I am deeply committed to providing accessible and culturally responsive behavioral health care. In addition to direct therapy services, I also provide behavioral health consultation and clinical supervision to support the professional development of our team.

My approach integrates person-centered, psychodynamic, gestalt, and existential approaches to help you deepen your understanding of yourself and your experiences. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, adoption, and grief. My practice is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, anti-racist, and LGBTQ+ allied.
